RADIO BROADCASTS

VOX Cape Town enjoys a special relationship with local classical and jazz community radio station, Fine Music Radio (FMR), of which it is also a Silver Benefactor. All times are given in South African Standard Time (UTC+02:00).

Fine Music Radio broadcasts on 101.3 FM in Cape Town, 107.9 FM in Fish Hoek and Noordhoek, 94.7 FM in Hout Bay and Llandudno, 97.1 FM on the Atlantic Seaboard, DStv Audio Channel 838 and worldwide on www.fmr.co.za.

Past broadcasts

• Christmas Eve: Since 2016, VOX Cape Town has broadcast a local adaptation of its Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols Christmas Eve.
• Friday 31 July 2020: To mark five years of imaginative, immersive choral experiences in July 2020 (while staying physically distant), VOX Cape Town invited its musical family to tune in to a special evening broadcast entitled “Celebrating Five Years of VOX”.
• Thursday 24 October 2019: A broadcast of the live recording of the Stabat Mater by Karl Jenkins that was made during our performance of the work in October 2018. The recording was preceded by a listening guide presented by John Woodland.
• Friday 21 September 2018: “Glorious Baroque”, the opening concert of the 2018 Cape Town Baroque Festival, was broadcast live on FMR from St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Cape Town.
• Saturday 27 January 2018: “Mozart Winds”, part of the Cape Town Concert Series, was broadcast live on FMR from the Baxter Concert Hall in Rondebosch.
