Music born from the spirit of the Cape
Founded in 2015, VOX grew out of the legacy of the St George's Singers, led for 51 years by Dr Barry Smith. Under the direction of singer-scientist Dr John Woodland, VOX has established itself as Cape Town's most innovative choral collective.
We perform seldom-heard repertoire in unconventional venues — art galleries, wine cellars, bakeries, breweries, and observatories — commission new works by South African composers, and broadcast on Fine Music Radio via our label CapeTown Sound.
