VOICES OF VOX
WITH CAMERATA TINTA BAROCCA
In a performance entitled “Voices of VOX” at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Saturday 23 September, VOX Cape Town joined soprano Elsabe Richter and Camerata Tinta Barocca under the direction of Erik Dippenaar. The programme consisted of Mozart’s “Laudate Dominum” and “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” and Haydn’s “Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo” or “Little Organ Mass”. Candlelight added to the special atmosphere of the evening.
VOX Cape Town looks forward to continuing this special relationship with Camerata Tinta Barocca at the 2018 Cape Town Baroque Festival and beyond.
“Anna’s Baroque Bon Bons”, presented on Fine Music Radio by Anna Stoddard, delves into the tales of the musicians, patrons, composers and instruments of the Baroque period. In the month preceding the Cape Town Baroque Festival, Anna will be featuring some of the musical highlights of the festival on Tuesdays at 07h15. On 5 September 2017, Anna featured Haydn’s “Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo” and played the first movement of this work recorded by the Staatskapelle Dresden under Sir Neville Marriner.
