HARMONY ON TAP
VOX AT JACK BLACK’S BREWING CO.
VOX Cape Town’s next multisensory event blends the craft of choral music with the exceptional beverages of Jack Black’s Brewing Company. Quaffers and connoisseurs alike are invited to an evening of brew-tiful harmonies accompanied by a chorus of craft beers in the cosy atmosphere of Jack Black’s Taproom!
What’s on tap? From rollicking sea shanties and wistful ballads to bawdy madrigals and other pint-size masterpieces, join us for an intoxicating evening of choral music celebrating life, love and laughter as we savour six of Jack Black’s flagship beers, ranging from the thirst-quenching Cape Pale Ale to the unfiltered spiciness of the Atlantic Weiss and the bold aromas of the Skeleton Coast IPA.
Hop to it! There are only a hundred spots for this intimate, ‘pitcher-perfect’ evening that playfully blends beer with music that VOX loves to sing but seldom has the opportunity to share.
VOX applauds Jack Black’s Pint for a Purpose campaign; over the years, they have partnered with heroes and organisations working tirelessly for our planet and communities. Jack Black takes sustainability seriously by minimising waste and engaging only with partners who do the same. They are dedicated to brewing inspirational beers; like VOX, their philosophy is to innovate while staying true to traditional methods.

Sound sips…
The piece that began our evening of brew-tiful harmonies accompanied by a chorus of Jack Black’s flagship beers was a 16th-century drinking song that blatantly (but playfully) parodies ecclesiastical chant: Vitrum nostrum gloriosum. We loved lifting our glasses to this one – and we love this stylish recording by the inimitable King’s Singers! Cheers!
“How glorious is our [drinking] glass, how pleasing to God. Raise it up! Come on, drink up till not a drop is left. Down the hatch! Now, that’s all inside me. Three cheers for our glass!”
We also took the liberty of reminding our guests of the rules of the road courtesy of the masterful setting of “The Highway Code” by The Master Singers from the 1960s. Who can resist heeding this important advice when it is dispensed a cappella in the form of Anglican chant…?
