“FROM ROOTS TO RENEWAL”
A CELEBRATION WITH VOX
As St Andrew’s Church in Newlands celebrates 130 rich years of history, VOX Cape Town invites you to an uplifting afternoon of choral music that honours this sacred space by weaving together themes of growth, joy and renewal.
VOX will present highlights from two of its recent immersive performances – “Tree of Life” and “Harmony on Tap” – as well as new choral and organ music that will evoke the unique sense of place of this historic church, as we look forward to a collective future filled with hope and song.
4 PM on Sunday 17 November 2024
St Andrew’s Church, Kildare Road, Newlands
Bookings via Quicket (R160) and also from the Church Office (021 674 3851)
VOX enjoys a special connection with St Andrew’s. We have presented our popular Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols there on many occasions and, in 2018, we hosted a fundraising concert in support of the St Andrew’s building project. Entitled ‘VOX Pops’, guests were invited to select the musical programme for the evening by voting for their favourite pieces online – another way of embracing our community while expanding our own musical horizons!
We thank Hans van Heukelum and Mags Wingfield for their support and enthusiasm. The evocative poster was designed by Clare Sirin, and we are grateful to Unique Destinations, specialists in bespoke travel itineraries to Antarctica and the Arctic, for the majestic polar photography!
