VOX CAPE TOWN PRESENTS

“THE CREATION” BY THOMAS RAJNA

A live recording of VOX’s performance is now available for digital download from iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music and Napster.

In August last year, VOX Cape Town contributed to the 90th birthday celebration of the life and music of local composer Thomas Rajna by performing his choral work “The Creation” at in the Baxter Concert Hall. You can read more about the performance here.

The musical setting of James Weldon Johnson’s poem – a naïve, captivatingly beautiful and vivid retelling of the story of Genesis – was written by Thomas Rajan in 2006. It incorporates the words and melodies of several Negro spirituals.
